Welcome to Teen-Works

What is Teen-Works?

Teen-Works is a youth program that is run like a business. When you join, you become a member, an employee and a stockholder. YOU are the main product of Teen-Works. Our meetings, trainings, events, and activities are all designed to help you build skills and confidence. YOU are actively involved in selecting career exploration projects and building skills of interest to you.

Who can join and how?

The program is coeducational and is open to teens ages 13-18  who attend school, work, or reside in Thurston County. Space is limited and new enrollments may be closed at any time.

What do you do in Teen-Works?

As a Teen-Works member, you are expected to attend monthly Company Meetings and Career Exploration Track Sessions. Here's how they work:

Teen-Works Company Meetings (required)

Teen-Works company meetings are held once each month, October through June. They are held after school on weekday evenings and are 2-hours in length. These company meetings bring all members together to learn, have fun, plan, and receive recognition and awards together. There are no Company meetings in July, August and September.

Career Tracks (at least one)

Career Exploration Tracks (required) provide training, hands-on experience, field trips, and a variety of projects to show what you've learned. If you would like to learn more about Career Exploration Tracks, click on any of the links on the left side of the screen that say Current Tracks or Other Tracks. If the track shows it is not available, go ahead and call the Teen-Works number above and add your name to the class list. If enough teens are interested in a track, we will try to find an instructor.
